Dept of Samhita Siddhanta & Dept of Panchakarma planned for the conduction of Vaasantika Vamana 2024 in the month of February & March as the season was observed to be favorable for Vamana.
Vasantika Vamana – 2024 was conducted from 26/02/2024 to 31/03/2024. The information & awareness of Vasantika Vamana was created through the circulation of a write up. Interested volunteers names were registered. A consultation was arranged for registered volunteers to assess the Agni Kostha or any associated health issues & to screen for any Vamana Anarha individuals. After consultation the schedule of Vamana was prepared. Deepana Paachana was done with Agnitundi Vati for 3 days followed by Snehapana till Sneha Siddhi Lakshana. One day Vishrama Kaala during which Abhyanga & Sweda were done, Kapha Utkleshakara Ahara were advised. Next day after Abhyanga & Sweda, Vamana was carried out.
Yavagu / Ksheera / Ikshu Rasa was given for Akantha Paana as per Saatmya of the subject, followed by Vaamaka Yoga which contained Madana Pippali Churna, Vacha Churna, Yasthi Churna, Pippali Churna, Saindhava Lavana & Madhu. Yasthi Phanta, Vidangaristha, Lavanodaka, Ushnodaka & Madiphala Rasayana were used as Vamanopaga Dravya. Vamana vegas were induced till the vomitus content was clear. Further after Gandusha, Dhoomapana was given to subjects. They were instructed about the diet to be followed during Samsarjana Krama.
Total 22 volunteers registered to the program. 18 volunteers completed the Vamana program; 3 were subjected for Mrudu Virechana as they attained menses. 1 subject was dropped out as Saama Lakshana developed with Snehapana.
